Rijssen
Brickworks are not only located on major rivers. At Rijssen they were once in the middle of the woods. Narrow gauge trains transported raw material from the clay pits to the brick kilns. Among the trees and the rhododendrons, the diesel locomotives of the SRL ride with cars especially converted for passengers. Don’t be surprised if a steam locomotive with peat cars or tipper wagons suddenly joins you on the track. And don’t miss the old-fashioned station, which is especially charming.
