Veendam – STADSKANAAL – Musselkanaal
The village of Stadskanaal was once a major junction for local railways. Today the museum railway STAR runs on one of these railways. But there’s more to do here: a trip by train, bus and boat to the lake of Blauwestad, a visit to the Veenkoloniaal Museum (Peat Colony Museum) in Veendam or to the Doe Museum. The train ride offers you panoramic views over the countryside and surrounding villages. You can even spend a night at the railway yard where a unique experience awaits you!
