Museumstoomtram Hoorn-Medemblik

HOORN - Wognum - Twisk - Medemblik

Experience the history of rural steam trams in Holland. Travel behind famous steam locomotives like ‘Bello’ or the unique ‘square’ tram engines nos. 8 and 18! Restored locos and rolling stock operate on the branch line between the ancient towns of Hoorn and Medemblik, which dates back to 1887, complete with original station buildings. In our trams you make an exciting journey through time to the Holland of yesteryear. Have a look at the coal fire in the locomotive, dress up as a traveller of 100 years ago, or assist the porter carrying luggage and sorting mailbags. A connecting historic essel sails between Medemblik and Enkhuizen over Lake IJsselmeer.
