The SDL focuses on the preservation and restoration of the so-called locomotoren of Dutch railways. These locomotoren were small two-axled diesel electric shunting locomotives. ome railway locomotives. They were nicknamed ‘sik’ (goat) because of the bleating noise of their whistles. Rolling stock is on several locations in the country, including the Dutch Open Air Museum at Arnhem and the Maritime Museum in Rotterdam.
